Don’t stand by – end hate crime

A new report identifies the ways in which police services are failing learning disabled people when they experience hate crime.

21/06/2011

Don’t Stand By reviewed the work of 14 police services and concluded that police are not adequately investigating disability hate crimes or treating victims as credible witnesses. The report is part of a campaign by the charity Mencap calling on the police and criminal justice system to take a number of steps towards ending disability hate crime.
