Inclusion London recommends that the Equality and Human Rights Commission monitors all government communications with the press, as the media continues to portray disabled people as ‘scroungers and cheats’.

Increasing poverty, poor quality of social care and employment are other areas where EHRC’s involvement would be welcomed, particularly as disabled people are being hit by welfare reform, loss of legal aid and the closure of Deaf and disabled people’s organisation due to funding cuts.
