Pedestrian crossing closures will endanger disabled people
Pedestrian crossings in several London boroughs, including Camden, Islington and Hackney have been targeted for closure as part to the Mayor’s ‘smoothing the traffic flow’ plans.

For disabled people journeys will become dangerous not ‘smooth’ as pedestrian crossings provide the only safe way to cross busy roads.
Inclusion London believes that motorists should not been given priority over the safety of disabled people. Consultations on some crossings have yet to take place and Inclusion London will provide more information once we have more details.
Unfortunately, consultations about crossings in Brent, Southwark and Barnet and four other boroughs have already taken place, decisions have yet to be announced. Inclusion London is concerned that disabled people may not have informed or involved in these consultations.
Details about particular pedestrian crossings are available in documents on the right.
