The Independent Living Fund ( ILF) provides vital funding to enable disabled people with high support needs to live independently in the community. The ILF has been closed to most new applicants since 2010 and government are saying they will close it in 2015 as it is no longer 'financially sustainable'.

This fund supports 21000 people and although the money is peanuts to the government, it is everything to some disabled people. It is the difference between being in a care home, and having a life.
