The government is consulting on its proposed changes to social housing, which were announced in the Comprehensive Spending Review in October.

The government is consulting on its proposed changes to social housing, which were announced in the Comprehensive Spending Review in October. The proposals will weaken the availability of social housing, increase rents (in housing associations) and make it possible to only offer homeless people a time-limited private sector tenancy. The impact will be worsened by other housing policy changes, such as cuts in Housing Benefit.
